Nope, that’s not a stuffed animal—it’s an ultra-fluffy, goofy sheepadoodle, a mixed breed that results from crossing an Old English Sheepdog and a Poodle.
Sheepadoodles are wonderful family dogs that love attention and children even more. They’re exceptionally playful and sweet, and they enjoy the company of other dogs. Thanks to their Poodle parent, a Sheepadoodle is usually a pretty smart dog. Poodles are second only to the Border Collie in terms of intelligence. Therefore, Sheepadoodles should be quite easy to train, but please realize this breed does need a strong leader and training from the start to be the best they can be.
You’ll often hear Sheepadoodles described as great dogs for families. That’s because they’ve got a very good temperament. These hybrid dogs are good-natured, loving and obedient. They like to interact with members of the family. They’re robust enough to enjoy a bit of rough and tumble in the yard but they can be gentle and patient too. While they do have moderate energy levels, they’re calm inside the home if exercise needs are met. They’re social dogs that like to meet new dogs and new people.
We love our sheepadoodle puppies and want to make sure we find the best homes for them. We find this breed is best suited for those who have older children and have had dogs before and know how to be strong and assertive leaders.

UPDATE 3/22/2023 – Starla and Kit are pregnant! pups are due mid April and they will be ready to take home mid June. As our Sheepdog Elroy ages we’ve decided to retire sheepadoodles from our program and focus on Bernedoodles and Goldendoodles here at Apple Creek. It’s been a fun 8 years with the breed! We will be breeding a few Sheepadoodle litters so we can fulfill our waiting lists. We hope to have merle/white partis and black/white partis ready to take home this June 2023. We will be keeping a running waiting list instead of reserving per litter, when pups arrive we will start at the top of the list and those with deposits will need to choose which gender they want and which litter they want to hold a spot from. All of our puppies come from parents that are OFA Hip, Elbow, Heart and Patella tested and Genetically tested for diseases that are prone to the breed. We primarily use Paw Print Genetics or Embark for our genetic breed panels. We’ve been breeding Doodles since 2004, sheepadoodles since 2015. Our puppies are sent home ready to explore the world!
We take a great amount of our making sure our puppies are happy, healthy and well socialized. Keeping them safe from diseases and injury from the time they are born until the time they walk out the door. Puppies come with a 2 year warranty. Before going home they will have a full physical by our vet, be dewormed, have all age-appropriate vaccinations, and will be microchipped. We send every puppy home with a toy that has familiar smells and a sample of the food they’ve been eating (if you need it) along with a custom binder that includes Mom and Dad’s information, Vet Paperwork, Microchip registration paperwork, signed receipt and warranty.
MEET THE PARENTS
Elroy is our silly Sheepdog. He is such a happy soul, so happy that he even smiles. Sometimes his puppies will get this trait too. Elroy has one blue eye and one brown eye. He is a great boy, loves everyone and everything. He is AKC Registered. Elroy weighs 70lbs and stands 25″ at his shoulders.
Elroy’s Health testing is complete, PENN HIP 90%, OFA Elbows, Heart, and Patellas are all Normal. His Genetic Panel for Sheepdogs is clear via Paw Print Genetics.
Starla is just about as sweet as they come. She has the personality you dream for in a dog. She’s very sweet, loving and she gives the best hugs. Her coat is amazing, I often think she’d be a great Grooming competition dog since her coat is so plush and easy to shape. Starla is AKC Registered, she is 40lbs and 21″ at her shoulders.
Starla’s Health testing is complete, OFA Hips Good, OFA Elbows, Heart, and Patellas are all Normal. Her Genetic Panel for Poodles is clear via Paw Print Genetics.
